About the role

The role involves patient care under the supervision of a physician, collaborating with various medical teams and staffing. Responsibilities include managing patient care, diagnosing, ordering tests and medications, and communicating with medical teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care, diagnose, order tests and medications, and document in patient records.
• Communicate with medical teams and provide consultations on patient conditions and plans of care.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and care teams to ensure patient safety and quality.
• Perform delegated clinical duties and tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Communicate assessment, treatment, and care planning to patients, families, and caretakers.
• Facilitate patient continuity of care across multi-disciplinary services.
• Adhere to clinical and institutional policies and procedures.
• Maintain required certifications and licensure as per Medical Staff policy and maintain active Mount Sinai Health System privileges.
• Promote self-learning and CME requirements for board certification and practice of evidence-based medicine.
• Contribute to a positive work environment.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment adhering to infection control standards and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an Accredited Physician Assistant Program, Masters preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in clinical specialty of hire or new graduate from an accredited PA Program.
