About the Role
A growing orthopedic practice is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive care to operative and non-operative orthopedic patients across both inpatient and outpatient settings. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced orthopedic APP or a motivated new graduate interested in developing expertise in orthopedic and musculoskeletal care.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care in clinical and surgical settings.
- Work collaboratively with orthopedic surgeons, APPs, and the broader clinical team.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients independently and in collaboration with physicians.
- Assess acute and chronic orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
- Review and interpret diagnostic imaging, including X-rays, MRI, and CT scans.
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, and recovery expectations.
- Assist with the management and follow-up of operative and non-operative patients.
- Provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced orthopedic environment.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and clinical training.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current North Carolina PA or NP license.
- Current board certification as a PA or NP.
- Ability to practice in North Carolina.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Interest in orthopedic and musculoskeletal patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous orthopedic experience.
- Musculoskeletal or orthopedic clinic experience.
- Experience working with a joint surgeon or orthopedic surgical team.
- Neurology experience is also considered relevant.
- New graduates with a strong interest in orthopedic care are encouraged to apply.
