About the role
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to perform disability assessments on U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's benefits process. This role involves assessing 3-5 Veterans daily in an in-person setting, primarily on Wednesdays from 9 am to 5 pm.
Responsibilities
- Review electronic medical records via a web portal
- Conduct focused, in-person physical exams
- Electronically document exam findings
This role does not involve making disability decisions, treating patients, or prescribing medication.
Requirements
- Hold a current, unrestricted NP or PA license
- Proficient with computers
- Skilled in time management
- Ability to analyze data from records and exams
- Interest in Independent Medical Assessments
