This position is located in Ft. Stewart, GA at WINN Army Medical Center in the department of Emergency Medicine. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient work-up by securing a health and medical history from the patient or family members and records findings.
- Examine patients and determine the need for and order laboratory tests, X-rays, physician consultation and other procedures necessary to complete assessment of the patient.
- Write prescriptions and order the administration of medications in accordance with approved treatment protocols.
- Make clinical decisions and diagnoses disease, illness or injury and works collaboratively with the physician in providing patient care, management and revision of therapeutic plans.
- Record entries into patient’s chart including daily progress notes with test results, treatment plans and outcomes.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- At least one year of experience as a certified physician assistant treating patients in an Emergency Hospital setting.
- Graduation from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), or its predecessors, at a college, university, or educational institution that is accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the Secretary, U.S. Department of Education.
- Successful completion of the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination; must maintain status as a certified physician assistant, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education (CME) and re-certification.
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant by the recognized licensing agency of a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
