Responsibilities
- Assists the physicians in the management of patients.
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of the physician.
- Works closely with and assists the physician in providing quality, efficient, ongoing, cost-effective care in-patient, out-patient, and within the designated departmental setting under the direction of the supervising physician.
Essential Functions
- Performs patient history and physical examination in the office setting.
- Performs physical examination of patient's with breast disease in the office setting to formulate a clinical plan of action.
- Affords assistance with minor office procedures such as biopsies, dressing changes, drains and aspirations.
- Orders and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests for patient care.
- Maintains monitoring of the patient's course of treatment and places orders for referral to the appropriate specialists if necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of an approved 2 year physician assistant program.
- No prior experience required, but experience in oncology is a plus!
- A current Physician’s Assistant license in state of Arizona and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and DEA certifications required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for department-specific roles.
