This Physician and Surgeon, CF (Internal Medicine/Family Practice) position is located at Calipatria State Prison (CAL) in Imperial, CA. The role provides medical care to patients within a correctional facility under the general direction of the Chief Physician & Surgeon.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical assessments and provide medical treatment to assigned patients as appropriate and authorized by the medical license.
• Provide clinical consultation to midlevel providers and other staff.
• Instruct nursing and other clinical staff on medical protocols and adhere to professional medical standards of care.
• Be assigned on-call duties as required.

Requirements

• Valid medical license authorizing practice in California.
• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice preferred.
• Experience in correctional health care or underserved community medicine is desirable.
