A Physical Therapist Assistant who excels in this role:
- Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
- Sets up and uses appropriate modalities as directed by the supervising therapist.
- Sets up and uses appropriate modalities as directed by the supervising therapist.
- Seeks consultation as necessary.
- Makes observations and notes of patient responses to the treatment plan.
- Communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
- Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
- Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
- Aids in patient discharge planning.
- Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.

Requirements
Associate's degree Required
Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Qualifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) Current and active Physical Therapy Assistant license in the State of Tennessee.
