Physical Therapy Assistant - PRN
About the Role
The Physical Therapist Assistant assists the Physical Therapist in the provision of physical therapy. The incumbent performs physical therapy procedures and related tasks selected and delegated by the supervising Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant may modify a specific treatment procedure in accordance with changes in patient status within the scope of the Physical Therapist's established treatment plan. The role includes documenting patient progress notes and safely providing physical therapy procedures as directed.
The incumbent addresses age-specific needs for all patients, treats patients and families with respect and dignity, and assesses and manages pain according to the department's pain management policy. Patient comfort and safety are prioritized, with any identified safety issues reported promptly. The Physical Therapist Assistant also provides technical assistance and direction to the Physical Therapy aide and coordinates workload in the department as directed.
Requirements
- Associate degree
- Current license to perform as a Physical Therapist Assistant from the Board of Physical Therapy in the applicable State of practice
- Entry-level experience is acceptable
- American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
