Role Overview: The Physical Therapy Assistant collaborates with physical therapists to develop and implement treatment plans aimed at restoring or improving patients' mobility, strength, coordination, and range of motion. They provide care across various settings, ensuring quality, cost-effective, and patient-centered services while complying with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Provision of Care: Implements treatment plans, selects appropriate activities, revises goals with therapists and patients, provides education, discharge instructions, and referrals, acting as a resource for staff and families.Documentation: Records treatment sessions and completes required documentation per protocols.General Requirements: Upholds ethical practices, maintains confidentiality, punctuality, dress code, and effective communication. Participates in meetings, organizes workload, uses equipment safely, and follows infection prevention protocols.Customer Service: Promotes positive patient and team experiences, applies service principles, and fosters teamwork and respect.Professional Development: Engages in ongoing education, completes competencies, participates in orientation, and maintains licensure requirements. Qualifications: High School Diploma, Associates in Physical Therapy, PTA license, and BLS certification are required. Additional licenses or certifications may be necessary.
