Essential Functions

  • Affords assistance in evaluating the efficacy of treatment plans and collaborates with the supervising Physical Therapist for adjustments.
  • Executes therapeutic interventions centered around posture, balance, locomotion, strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, pain management, and daily functional abilities.
  • Administers treatment methods and modalities under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, ensuring compliance with current physical therapy practices.
  • Maintains vigilance over patient progress and communicates timely feedback to the supervising Physical Therapist regarding treatment effectiveness.
  • Shares patient education on therapeutic exercises, techniques, and self-management strategies aimed at promoting recovery and improving function.
  • Customizes treatment approaches according to the patient's age, developmental level, cultural background, and individual goals.
  • Completes thorough, precise, and compliant documentation of patient care, including treatment plans, interventions, progress notes, and discharge recommendations.
  • Collaborates with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care, actively participating in discharge planning and recommendations for ongoing therapy or supportive services.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 0-1 years of experience in a physical therapy setting is required.
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques, modalities, and interventions utilized in physical therapy.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and team members.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation and treatment planning.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
  • Physical stamina to assist patients with therapeutic activities and exercises.
  • PTA - Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of employment required.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support certification required.
