Essential Functions
- Affords assistance in evaluating the efficacy of treatment plans and collaborates with the supervising Physical Therapist for adjustments.
- Executes therapeutic interventions centered around posture, balance, locomotion, strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, pain management, and daily functional abilities.
- Administers treatment methods and modalities under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, ensuring compliance with current physical therapy practices.
- Maintains vigilance over patient progress and communicates timely feedback to the supervising Physical Therapist regarding treatment effectiveness.
- Shares patient education on therapeutic exercises, techniques, and self-management strategies aimed at promoting recovery and improving function.
- Customizes treatment approaches according to the patient's age, developmental level, cultural background, and individual goals.
- Completes thorough, precise, and compliant documentation of patient care, including treatment plans, interventions, progress notes, and discharge recommendations.
- Collaborates with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care, actively participating in discharge planning and recommendations for ongoing therapy or supportive services.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least 0-1 years of experience in a physical therapy setting is required.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques, modalities, and interventions utilized in physical therapy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation and treatment planning.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
- Physical stamina to assist patients with therapeutic activities and exercises.
- PTA - Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of employment required.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support certification required.
