Physical Therapy Assistant PRN

Position Responsibilities

• Provides treatment as directed by the staff physical therapist.
• Observes and evaluates treatment effect, discusses observations with staff physical therapist.
• Performs components of an appropriate assessment on all patients as related to the therapy requested.
• Aids in the formulation of a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and assesses effectiveness of learning.
• Involves family in teaching as appropriate, reports to staff physical therapist on conclusions.
• Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintains department cleanliness and safety.
• Collaborates with other departments as needed to improve patient care and performance.
• Assists in ordering supplies, maintaining adequate PAR levels to ensure availability of supplies and equipment.
• Participates in infection control, departmental training, and organizational CQI activities.

Experience

• Prior PTA experience preferred.

Education

• AA degree from a school or college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Special Qualifications

• Current AL certificate as Physical Therapy Assistant.
• BLS required.
• Alabama license required.
