Physical Therapy Aide - Outpatient

Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists, as well as Therapy Assistants, during patient care activities.
- Prepare and maintain treatment areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment.
- Perform clerical tasks, including ordering departmental supplies and maintaining accurate records.
- Communicate acute care schedule changes to nursing staff as needed.
- Support front office operations, including scheduling appointments, collecting co-pays and co-insurance, and reconciling daily charges.
- Assist with patient transfers, treatments, and delivery of therapy equipment to inpatient rooms upon request.
- Manage ordering and maintenance of therapy equipment and supplies.
- Help ensure clinic compliance with Joint Commission standards under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor.
- Foster and maintain professional relationships with staff and uphold high personal standards in daily work.
Qualifications
- Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
- Experience: Prior hospital Physical Therapy Aide experience preferred.
Skills
- Ability to work well with others with tact and diplomacy, as there is much interdepartmental and departmental exchange of information.
- Excellent communication skills are required to relate effectively with patients, co-workers, and management.
- Good verbal, written, and listening skills are necessary.
- Organizational and time management skills are essential.
- Basic familiarity with computers, including use of Excel, are preferred.
