Responsibilities

  • Assists Licensed Therapists and Licensed Therapy Assistants with patient care and therapeutic activities
  • Prepares and maintains the treatment area to ensure a safe and organized environment
  • Performs clerical duties, including ordering and stocking departmental supplies
  • Transports pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients to and from therapy sessions, taking precautions to avoid aggravating any injuries or medical conditions
  • Safely transfers patients in and out of wheelchairs, beds, gurneys, and other equipment using proper body mechanics and safety techniques
  • Assists staff with patient transfers, treatments, and delivery of therapy equipment to patient rooms, as requested
  • Helps manage the therapy schedule, tracks equipment usage, and ensures daily cleaning and maintenance assignments are completed
  • Maintains high personal standards, professionalism, and positive working relationships with team members and patients

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Prior hospital Physical Therapy Aide experience preferred

Skills

  • Ability to work well with others with tact and diplomacy
  • Good verbal, written and listening skills
  • Good organizational skills are essential
  • Basic clerical skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands

Licensure

  • BLS Healthcare Provider required within three months of hire
  • For full-time PT Aides at Good Sams RIO department only: Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets insurance carrier requirements for employees assigned to drive the RIO patient transport bus
  • Current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card required once employed

Pay

USD $18.47 - USD $25.01 /Hr.
