Responsibilities
- Assists Licensed Therapists and Licensed Therapy Assistants with patient care and therapeutic activities
- Prepares and maintains the treatment area to ensure a safe and organized environment
- Performs clerical duties, including ordering and stocking departmental supplies
- Transports pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients to and from therapy sessions, taking precautions to avoid aggravating any injuries or medical conditions
- Safely transfers patients in and out of wheelchairs, beds, gurneys, and other equipment using proper body mechanics and safety techniques
- Assists staff with patient transfers, treatments, and delivery of therapy equipment to patient rooms, as requested
- Helps manage the therapy schedule, tracks equipment usage, and ensures daily cleaning and maintenance assignments are completed
- Maintains high personal standards, professionalism, and positive working relationships with team members and patients
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Prior hospital Physical Therapy Aide experience preferred
Skills
- Ability to work well with others with tact and diplomacy
- Good verbal, written and listening skills
- Good organizational skills are essential
- Basic clerical skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple demands
Licensure
- BLS Healthcare Provider required within three months of hire
- For full-time PT Aides at Good Sams RIO department only: Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets insurance carrier requirements for employees assigned to drive the RIO patient transport bus
- Current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card required once employed
Pay
USD $18.47 - USD $25.01 /Hr.
