Physical Therapist, Scranton Transitional Rehab Unit (PT, Days, 30 hours per pay)

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and implements treatment for assigned patients under the supervision of the Team Supervisor. They must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients, including adults through geriatrics.

Education

A Bachelor's, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited school of Physical Therapy is required.

Experience

New graduates are acceptable; one to two years of Physical Therapy experience is preferred.

Special Employment Requirements

  • Current licensure (or license eligible) as a Physical Therapist by the PA State Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs is required.
  • Clearances required: PA State Police criminal history check, PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse Central Register (Childline), PA Department of Human Services FBI fingerprint clearance, and PA Department of Aging FBI fingerprint clearance (if applicable).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills for effective communication with staff, patients, and families are required.
  • A valid PA driver's license is required due to travel in community reintegration activities.
  • CPR Certification must be obtained and maintained.
  • The ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care appropriate to the age-specific needs and culture of the patient served is required.

Physical Demands

Moderate work: duties require exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 10-25 lbs. of force frequently. Position involves lifting/transferring patients, carrying objects, pushing wheelchairs, sitting and working in reaching and strained positions throughout the shift. Ability to transport self throughout the facility is required.

Accident or Health Hazards

Occasional exposure to blood and body substances.

Working Conditions

Works in well-lit office, gym, and patient care areas.
