Physical Therapist Assistant, Scranton Out-Patient Rehab Centers (Call-In)

About the role

Under the overall supervision of the Team or Clinic Manager, the Physical Therapist Assistant administers physical therapy treatments under the direct, on premise supervision of the Physical Therapist, in compliance with state law governing the practice of Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of PA.

Responsibilities

• Administers physical therapy treatments under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Provides care appropriate to the age of the patients served by his/her department—pediatric through geriatric.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
• Absesses data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs.
• Provides the care needed as described in the Outpatient and Physical Therapy policies and procedures.
• Exercises functional supervision of support personnel during clinical activities.
• Reports to the Team or Clinic Manager and supervises aides.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Criminal history check and Child Abuse Central Register (Childline) and Cogent clearance from the PA State Police and PA Department of Public Welfare.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective interaction with management, staff, patients, and visitors.
• Valid PA driver's license required for travel.
• CPR certification is required and must be maintained.
• Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care appropriate to the age-specific needs and culture of the patient served.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant Program approved in the year of graduation by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• One (1) to two (2) years Physical Therapist Assistant experience preferred.
• License preferred.
