Responsibilities

• Evaluates residents, develops treatment goals, implements the physical therapy treatment plan, and documents services provided.
• Designs and fits adaptive devices, and trains residents in their use.
• Selects physical agent modalities based on individual needs.
• Consults with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop appropriate regimens.
• Instructs residents in mobility activities and evaluates their progress.
• Adapts treatment plans to meet individual resident needs.
• Promotes a safe environment and enforces safety protocols.
• Attends and contributes to resident care and staffing conferences.
• Supervises support personnel according to state and professional standards.
• Conducts and participates in training programs for medical, nursing, and other personnel.
• Orders supplies and equipment as needed.
• Cleans, maintains, and reports equipment needs.
• Ensures high-quality service and a caring atmosphere for residents and families.

Requirements

• Graduate of a physical therapy curriculum accredited by the American Medical Association and American Physical Therapy Association.
• Certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the State.
