Physical Therapist, Part-time
Professional Duties
Conduct screenings and assessments for students age 3 to 22 years in order to determine eligibility and service needs related to physical therapy.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEP) with physical therapy goals and intervention strategies that support children's functional participation in their academic program.
Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services in a variety of natural learning environments based on the frequency and duration determined by the IEP team.
Support students' development in areas including gross motor skill acquisition, postural control, functional mobility, visual motor integration, social participation, and classroom engagement.
Collaborate with teachers, educational technicians, Speech-language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers, and administrators to support integrated and inclusive educational programming.
Provide coaching and consultation to educators and families regarding learning strategies, environmental adaptations, assistive tools, sensory supports, and accommodations that promote successful participation and independence.
Maintain ongoing communication with families and the education team regarding student goals and progress.
Complete required documentation including evaluations, Individual Education Plans, progress reports, Mainecare forms, and service logs in a timely and compliant manner.
Requirements
- Maine Licensure as a Physical Therapist
- State of Maine Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) necessary - reimbursed by Leaps & Bounds Therapy
Pay
Highly competitive compensation rate.
Schedule
10-12 hours/week during the academic school year and optional 4-5 hours/week during the month of July for extended school year programming.

Prior pediatric and/or school-based experience is preferred but not necessary.
