About the role
This position involves providing comprehensive physical therapy services, including evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation across various settings. The therapist collaborates with healthcare team members, participates in program development, and ensures patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations by reviewing histories, performing assessments, and explaining findings to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
- Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation results, patient presentation, and healthcare environment, consulting with professionals as needed.
- Complete discharge planning, follow-up care, and accurate documentation of patient progress, plans, and outcomes.
- Manage time effectively, meet productivity standards, and provide flexible, empathetic care in a patient-driven environment.
- Pursue continuing education, serve as a clinical instructor, and mentor new staff, students, and volunteers to foster professional growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure in Maryland, D.C., and/or Virginia, as required by location.
- American Heart Association BLS CPR certification.
