About the role

Physical therapist responsible for providing physical therapy treatment and evaluating patients referred by other qualified medical personnel. Through a combination of manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and specialized interventions, the PT works to improve patients' mobility, alleviate pain, and enhance their overall quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical conditions.
  • Analyze medical history and diagnostic data to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Design and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to patients' specific needs and goals.
  • Utilize therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, modalities, and assistive devices to address mobility limitations and functional impairments.
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, exercise regimens, and strategies for maintaining progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Promote self-management and injury prevention.
  • Regularly assess and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and organized patient records and session notes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and orthopedic specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care and integrated treatment approaches.
  • Recommend and instruct patients on the use of adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and mobility aids to enhance independence and safety.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Comply with state licensure requirements, professional regulations, and insurance guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • A minimum of one (1) year progressive clinical experience required.
  • Previous experience in an acute care or home health care environment setting preferred.
  • Rhode Island licensure required.
