Physical Therapist - Home Care (Full Time)

About the role

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments
• Develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients
• Provide direct supervision to patients
• Provide indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians
• Provide general supervision of physical therapist assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts
• Ensure duties align with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards

Requirements

• Current state license in Physical Therapy
• Education: Bachelor’s, Master of Science, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy
• Current/temporary Physical Therapy license in the state of practice
• BLS certification (must be current before independent patient care)

Qualifications

• Preferred: Six months to one year of experience as a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist
• Preferred experience with adult and geriatric patient populations

Skills

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during shifts
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform job duties
