Physical Therapist Float - Inpatient

About the role

Sheltering Arms Institute, a non‑profit, state‑of‑the‑science physical rehabilitation hospital and network of outpatient centers, is seeking a full‑time Physical Therapist Float to join the inpatient team. The Institute delivers an innovative, transdisciplinary model of rehabilitative care grounded in advanced technology, research, and evidence‑based treatment, and is ranked among the nation’s best rehabilitation hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality, comprehensive, patient‑centered physical therapy services, including patient examination (ages 12+), development and administration of a treatment plan, documentation and communication with team members, and clinical direction and supervision to licensed/non‑licensed personnel.
• Instructs therapy support staff, students, other team members, and patients and/or caregivers.
• May rotate through clinical areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy educational program.
• Virginia licensure to practice, or eligibility and application for licensure by the Physical Therapy Board of the Virginia State Board of Health Professions.
• Healthcare professionals CPR certification.

Preferred qualifications

• Doctoral degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Specialty practice certification.

Skills

• Experience/expertise in inpatient rehabilitation.

Pay

$38.00 – $56.00 per hour, reflecting a commitment to pay equity and market‑competitive compensation. Final compensation depends on experience, skills, and internal equity.
