Responsibilities
- Screen patients/residents
- Evaluate patients/residents and develop appropriate care plans
- Perform direct resident treatment in accordance with an established plan of care
- Contribute to the team meeting and decision-making process
- Consult with and train patients, residents, and caregivers
- Monitor efficiencies on an ongoing basis
- Document activities according to the company's clinical documentation system
- Demonstrate consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations
- Communicate effectively with patients, residents, team members, customers, and supervisor
- Provide appropriate consultation to the facility
- Participate in clinical program development and implementation
- Participate in quality improvement activities
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree, Master of Science or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
- Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to perform documentation needs, manipulations of equipment, and direct patient care
- Requires intense attention and concentration
- Ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time effectively for self and others
- Ability to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds
- Ability to articulate and comprehend the English language
- Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary
