Physical Therapist Assistant - Home Health
About the role
The PTA will serve our home health population and work closely with Physical Therapists to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in patients’ homes. We empower our therapists to focus on what each patient needs and allow enough time in their day to provide quality care. There are no rushed 15-minute encounters, we do not schedule at 125% production, and we encourage our therapists to spend the time necessary to ensure each patient receives the care they require.

Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments to patients in their homes under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Follow individualized treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, stretching, strengthening, balance, mobility, and functional activities
- Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and communicate changes in condition or progress to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist
- Educate patients and caregivers on prescribed exercises, mobility techniques, safety, and appropriate use of assistive devices
- Assist patients in improving strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and functional independence
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation regarding treatments, patient response, goals, and progress
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, Physical Therapists, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team
- Recognize changes in a patient’s condition and promptly report concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care in the home environment
- Manage an efficient daily schedule while traveling between patient homes
- Follow all applicable professional, organizational, and home health policies and procedures

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in Idaho
- Current CPR/BLS certification, as required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a home health environment
- Ability to travel to patients’ homes throughout the assigned service area
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
