Key Responsibilities
- Aid in implementing treatment plans as directed by a licensed physical therapist.
- Lead patients through prescribed exercises and activities to improve physical function and recovery.
- Instruct patients on proper exercise techniques and provide feedback to ensure safe participation.
- Maintain the proper application of treatment modalities, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatment parameters as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, body mechanics, and pain management.
- Monitor patients' progress and report changes in functional status or treatment tolerance to the supervising physical therapist.
- Collaborate with the supervising physical therapist to adjust the treatment plan as needed based on patient progress.
Requirements
- Completed an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Current license/certification in the state of practice.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to document patient progress accurately.
- Knowledge of therapeutic exercise principles and techniques.
- Basic understanding of physical therapy modalities and their applications.
