Physical Therapist Assistant - full-time
Are you a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant looking for a unique opportunity with a set schedule in an inpatient or outpatient setting? Alton Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time PTA to join our team! You’ll work alongside a dynamic, multidisciplinary team while managing a diverse outpatient caseload, including orthopedic, neurological, and general medicine patients.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday with weekend and holiday rotation
About the Role
Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital offering a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery, medical imaging, heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, and ambulance services.
Alton Memorial Hospital's Rehabilitation Services is called "The Human Motion Institute." The team includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapist Assistants, and Occupational Therapist Assistants.
Role Purpose
Provides skilled treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by a licensed physical therapist as specified in their health care service setting.
Responsibilities
- Implements treatment plan as developed by the licensed physical therapist.
- Collaborates with the licensed physical therapist on an agreed-upon frequency to assess and reassess patient’s plan of care, treatment goals, and interventions.
- Documents patient progress in daily notes and weekly notes (as applicable), as well as contributes recommendations to patient’s discharge note from physical therapy.
- Assists with guidance for clinical fieldwork students under the supervision of the physical therapist.
- Reports on interventions and patient progress during assigned meetings and contributes to the screening and evaluation process.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant
- No prior experience required
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
