Physical Security Specialist (Overnight)

Description of Duties

• Identify and prioritize physical security and safety needs for staff and properties.
• Monitor physical security operations center including electronic access control, network video, mass notification, and fire detection systems in a Security Operations Center.
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, threats, activated alarms, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, suspicious activity, and other incidents or conditions.
• Manage company identification and access card processes.
• Perform duties related to the control, monitoring, and granting of access into controlled areas.
• Investigate and respond to reported suspicious activity.
• Provide excellent service, customer relations and communications skills in dealing with employees, vendors, visitors, and contractors. Create and maintain an atmosphere that is responsive, courteous, and respectful; presents a professional image of Physical Security.
• Document physical security activities and incidents to comply with company records retention policy.
• Provide oversight and direction to contract security personnel.
• Carry out proactive interior and exterior marked vehicle and foot patrols for deterrent and incident response.

Summary of Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of related experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent, Specialized training in security procedures or equivalent preferred.
• Must obtain first aid and CPR/AED certification after hiring.
• Frequent to constant standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods of time.
• Work site may be normal office with moderate noise level or outside work in all environmental conditions including heat, rain, wind, and snow.
• Carry and utilize two-way radio.
• Physical mobility and stamina to run, rapidly ascend/descend flight of stairs.
• Overtime, holiday, and varying shift work may be required.
• Must have valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Interact and communicate professionally and effectively with employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Able to work in an environment with moderate levels of stress.
• This position requires, upon offer, that a pre-employment drug screen be completed due to the safety sensitive nature of the job and/or work environment.
