About the role
The Physiatrist is accountable for providing day-to-day medical care, rehabilitation team guidance, and medical leadership for the inpatient rehabilitation unit. This role also rotates between managing medically complex patients in the inpatient rehab unit and providing consultative and service-based outpatient clinic support. This position reports directly to the Rehabilitation Medicine Chief of Service.
Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day medical care for inpatient rehabilitation unit patients
- Guides the rehabilitation team
- Manages medically complex patients in the inpatient rehab unit
- Supports all aspects of inpatient rehabilitation management
- Rotates between inpatient rehab unit and outpatient clinic
- Participates on relevant departmental and hospital committees as assigned
- Completes 10 weekend calls per year
Requirements
- Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
- Current, active, and unrestricted MD or DO license to practice in NY
- Current DEA License

Pay
Salary range: $230,000 - $240,000. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual salary may not fall within the listed salary range; consideration will be made for experience, training, hospital/community need, and other factors.
Schedule
The position involves rotating between inpatient rehab unit and outpatient clinic work, requiring flexibility in scheduling.
