About the role

The Paint Application Engineer manages the Pretreatment and Electro-deposition process area for new vehicle programs. The Specialist will develop and implement short and long-term strategies and policies to meet or exceed FCA quality and efficiency goals. The position involves working closely with various departments including Environment Health and Safety, Materials and Corrosion, and manufacturing plants. The Specialist also represents paint operations in forums like IH Reviews or Plant Launch Meetings.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement strategies to enhance quality and efficiency in the paint process. - Work closely with Environment Health and Safety, Materials and Corrosion, and manufacturing plants. - Represent paint operations in forums such as IH Reviews or Plant Launch Meetings. - Support improvements in performance and quality processes within the paint department. - Assist in implementing World Class Technology (WCT) and Stellantis Production Way initiatives such as Early Equipment, Autonomous, Professional maintenance, Work Place Organization, Logistics, and Focused Problem Solving.

Requirements

- High School Diploma or GED. - 2+ years of experience in paint manufacturing processes. - Knowledge and/or experience in PT/E-coat, sealer application & materials, powder/prime & topcoat prep and finesse processing & materials. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Strong presentation skills. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. - CAD Experience.
