Phoenix - Process Maintenance Trainer

We are a collaborative, diverse, and dynamic mining company seeking a Process Maintenance Trainer for our Phoenix Safety and Health Team. This role focuses on developing and conducting training programs for process maintenance technicians across the Process Division, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and attitude to perform tasks safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally sound manner.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain accurate training records in accordance with MSHA regulations.
• Lead the transition to Competency Based Training.
• Develop, administer, and continuously improve training programs.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within training.
• Develop training courses based on operational and site needs.
• Create teaching outlines and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops.
• Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to safety and health.
• Select or develop testing and evaluation procedures for use before and after training.
• Evaluate all training facilitators (Senior and Junior).
• Partner with Process Management to review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Develop and maintain competency-based training programs that promote knowledge retention and operational excellence.
• Develop a 30, 60, 90-day competency review process.
• Audit training programs and materials.
• Assist in the implementation of a Learning Management System.
• Coordinate and manage site SOP revisions.
• Plan, manage, and schedule Annual Refresher Training for all employees.
• Assist with site hazard training.
• Support the rollout of new training systems and initiatives.
• Assist with the evaluation and redesign of the training system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Five (5) years of training or mentoring experience in heavy industry.
• Proven experience working with peer groups and focus teams.
• Ability to drive results and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and influencing skills.
• Ability to promote safety in training and lead by example.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred.
• Proven safe work record.
• Experience developing competency-based training programs preferred.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to present technical information to individuals and groups.
