Phoenix, City of: Accountant II (Financial Accounting and Reporting Division)

About the role

The Accountant II position within the Financial Accounting and Reporting Division is responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions including, but not limited to, general ledger account reconciliation, financial reporting, and assisting with budget preparation and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Performing general ledger account reconciliations and maintaining accurate records.
• Preparing and analyzing financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assisting with budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• CPA certification preferred.
• Experience with financial management software such as SAP or Oracle.

• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

$60,000 - $65,000 annually.
