Phlebotomy Trainee

About the Role

Labcorp, a global leader in diagnostic testing and drug development solutions, is seeking a Phlebotomy Trainee to join our team in Burien, WA. As part of our Phlebotomy Trainee Program, you'll work part-time as a Patient Intake Representative while attending phlebotomy school (paid for by Labcorp) to become a Washington State Licensed Phlebotomist. Once licensed, you'll transition into a phlebotomy role within our Patient Service Center, offering opportunities for career growth and development.

Responsibilities

• Successfully attend assigned phlebotomy school within 30 days of hire
• Direct observation of phlebotomy collections within a PSC or clinic environment
• Schedule patient appointments and greet patients upon arrival
• Ensure a welcoming environment for patients and visitors
• Assist patients with registration and check-in procedures
• Data entry of patient demographics and billing information
• Verify insurance coverage and collect/post payments to patient accounts
• Collect and prepare specimens for testing and analysis when needed
• Call physician offices to confirm test order accuracy
• Monitor and log patient wait times regularly

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
• Excellent customer service and strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced atmosphere
• Proficient computer and typing skills
• Alpha-Numeric Data Entry proficiency

Pay

$21.32 per hour

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm; additional hours and rotating Saturdays as needed
