Phlebotomy Supervisor

Job Description

The Phlebotomy Supervisor at Singing River Health System is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Phlebotomy section of the Laboratory. This role ensures accurate and reliable testing by managing competent, well-trained personnel and maintaining equipment and instrumentation. The supervisor must remain updated on new testing procedures, instrument, and technical developments to provide expertise and support within the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Phlebotomy certification from an approved agency preferred.
• Two (2) years’ experience as a staff phlebotomist, preferably within a hospital setting, required.
• Prior experience with a lab information system and lab outreach programs preferred.

Physical Demands

• Moderately active work involving sitting and moving around the office and facility.
• Exerting a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or operate standard office equipment.
• Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Close visual and acuity needed for tasks requiring precision.
• Ability to work extended periods without undue fatigue.
• Must be able to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
