About the role
The Phlebotomist III- Float draws and prepares high-quality blood samples for lab testing across multiple locations, ensuring accuracy, safety, and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care by explaining procedures, building trust, and collecting specimens skillfully.
- Cover various settings including doctor’s offices, mobile clinics, long-term care, and in-office environments.
- Lead and mentor staff, support onboarding, and act as a resource for complex cases requiring advanced phlebotomy skills.
- Collaborate with multiple departments such as sales, lab, IT, and billing to manage high-volume, complex test orders.
- Maintain process excellence and uphold confidentiality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred in certain states.
- Minimum five years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Experience in patient service or in-office settings preferred.
Skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Problem-solving and data entry proficiency.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
