About the Role
Middle Creek Family Practice, a division of Summit Medical Group, is seeking a Phlebotomist with CMA, RMA, or EMT certification to join their practice. This is a full-time opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Prepares equipment to efficiently collect blood specimens.
- Communicates appropriately with supervisor about concerns and needs pertaining to equipment.
- Performs venipuncture, arterial, and capillary punctures on patients as appropriate.
- Identifies and labels specimens in an accurate and timely manner.
- Conducts designated laboratory testing.
- Assists in the care of the donor prior to, during, and after the donation.
- Maintains stocked, neat, and clean examination rooms and common work areas on a daily basis.
- Adheres to established policies and procedures including OSHA guidelines and the Corporate Compliance Program.
- Performs duties assigned in a professional manner following established policies and procedures while exhibiting a courteous and cooperative manner to co-workers, management, and the public.
- Performs related duties assigned by supervisor, Site Manager, physician, or Administrative staff.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality.
- Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities.
- Contributes to the continual evaluation of site performance as well as the implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; prefer additional vocational or college credits.
- At least six months of experience in a similar clinical setting preferred.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) certification required.
