Phlebotomist - Summit Medical Group at Pistol Creek (Alcoa)

About the role

Pistol Creek (Alcoa), a division of Summit Medical Group, is seeking a Certified Phlebotomist to join their practice in a full-time capacity.

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment to efficiently collect blood specimens.
• Communicates appropriately with supervisor about concerns and needs pertaining to equipment.
• Performs venipuncture, arterial, and capillary punctures on patients as appropriate.
• Identifies and labels specimens in an accurate and timely manner.
• Conducts designated laboratory testing.
• Assists in the care of the donor prior to, during, and after the donation.
• Maintains stocked, neat, and clean examination rooms and common work areas on a daily basis.
• Adheres to established policies and procedures including OSHA guidelines and the Corporate Compliance Program.
• Performs duties assigned in a professional manner following established policies and procedures while exhibiting a courteous and cooperative manner to co-workers, management, and the public.
• Performs related duties assigned by supervisor, Site Manager, physician, or Administrative staff.
• Maintains strictest confidentiality.
• Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities.
• Contributes to the continual evaluation of site performance as well as the implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required; prefer additional vocational or college credits.
• At least six months of experience in a similar clinical setting preferred.
• Certified Phlebotomist.
