Responsibilities
- Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community respectfully
- Collects all specimens according to established procedures from patients and ensures proper processing
- Identifies patients accurately and matches their identity with the correct service for patient safety
- Performs data entry and processing of specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as requested by test orders
- Completes departmental-related clerical duties such as checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed
- Trains and assists other staff members in specimen collection techniques
- Assists with specimen transport and storage
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and maintains accurate records
Requirements
- High School Degree or GED
- Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required
- One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly
