About the role

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the company to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The PSR I performs both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, maintains required records, and demonstrates organizational commitment.

Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing with confidence.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
• Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• Minimum of 6 months of experience required; one or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience required.
