About the role
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the company to patients, providing a welcoming and professional experience during routine health visits or critical health decisions. The PSR I draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and ensures a safe, accurate, and confidential process. This role focuses on building trust with patients while demonstrating leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to patient information.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment for patients and staff.
- Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established practices and procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients and draw blood specimens skillfully, safely, and accurately, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Perform keyboard/data entry tasks efficiently.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic training) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Minimum of 6 months of experience required; one or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Proficiency in keyboard/data entry.
Schedule
Monday through Thursday: 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Saturday: 6:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
