Phlebotomist (Laboratory Assistant II) – Lab Support (24 hours night shift 9p-5a] Week
Responsibilities
- Registers and orders specimens received from clients into LIS.
- Verifies and enters patient, test, and information into LIS computer system according to policy.
- Generates barcode labels, labels specimens, and prints outstanding specimen list.
- Performs phlebotomy on inpatient and outpatient populations using the stated procedural policies.
- Maintains workflow using the specimen tracker.
- Processes specimens including centrifugation, aliquoting, labeling.
- Prepares specimens to be sent to referral laboratories; obtains proper detailed information pertaining to sample requirements.
- Monitors inventory levels and stores equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly manner.
- Maintains accurate records of processes performed, using manual and computer-based systems.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Graduate of phlebotomy training program preferred.
- Certification/Licensure: phlebotomy certification preferred, ASCP certification/eligible preferred.
- Software/Hardware: SunQuest and Epic.
- Dexterity sufficient to manipulate instrumentation.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures.
- Ability to communicate adequately with all laboratory clients.
- Basic clerical/data entry skills preferred.
- Excellent client relations skills required.
Pay
$19.29- $28.67
Schedule
24 Hours, Overnight, 9p-5a, Every Other Weekend, Part-Time, Benefit Eligible
