About the role
The PSR II – Site Lead is the face of Quest Diagnostics to patients, overseeing daily operations and ensuring accurate specimen collection.
Responsibilities
- Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screenings, and insurance exams.
- Administer oral solutions as per established training.
- Research and verify test/client information using lab technology systems or directories.
- Complete data entry and manage standing orders.
- Enter billing information and collect payments, ensuring the security of assets and credit card information.
- Data entry and processing specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required.
- Perform clerical duties such as data entry, inventory management, and answering phones.
- Comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and initials, ensuring signatures are present and correct.
- Compile and submit monthly statistics and data.
- Maintain logs and report shortages and issues to supervisors.
- Aid in scheduling and communication with clients.
- Participate in special projects and teams.
- Stay updated on company communications and distribute technical information.
- Perform Point of Care (POC) testing and complete training/competency evaluations.
- Assist new employees in transitioning into the PSC work environment.
- Communicate professionally with clients to resolve or refer issues and document them.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, well-maintained work environment.
- Implement and enforce SOPs for phlebotomy services.
- Assist with inventory counts and report shortages and problems.
- Communicate with supervisors about required repairs and maintenance.
- Act as a coach, mentor, and resource advisor for new employees.
Requirements
- Three years phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record.
- Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy certification (preferred).
Qualifications
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Physical and mental requirements: lift light to moderately heavy objects, sit or stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and handle fine dexterity.
- Knowledge of Quest Diagnostics policies and procedures, including Company dress code, Employee Health & Safety, and Quest Diagnostics Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions based on established procedures.
