Phlebotomist - Full-time Nights

About the role

Responsible for performing phlebotomy and lab specimen collection, processing, and specimen handling in accordance with departmental policies. Ensures accurate order entry, specimen labeling, and timely processing to maintain sample integrity. Provides excellent patient communication and care, following safety protocols and infection control standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and lab specimen collection, processing, and specimen handling in accordance with departmental policies
• Ensure accurate order entry, specimen labeling, and timely processing to maintain sample integrity
• Provide excellent patient communication and care
• Follow safety protocols and infection control standards
• Maintain lab equipment and document QC/QA records
• Report issues promptly
• Perform lab-related clerical duties, including verifying test results and managing patient information using electronic systems
• Demonstrate teamwork, critical thinking, and adherence to ethical standards
• Support departmental efficiency and cost-saving initiatives through resource utilization

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification from a recognized organization, medical training, or equivalent experience
• Preferred experience includes performing phlebotomy on diverse patient populations
• Preferred experience with specimen processing
• Preferred familiarity with EMR systems and medical terminology
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and safety awareness are essential
