About the role

The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the company to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.

Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR III performs daily activities accurately and maintains a safe, professional environment. Responsibilities include forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, verification of patient demographic information, and maintaining required records.

Responsibilities

  • Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric.
  • Prepare specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and ensure tubes are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to patient confidentiality.
  • Perform duties in a fast-paced, high-volume setting with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Handle multiple priorities and adapt to staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Travel to multiple locations with minimal notice, including patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy sites.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum of two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions based on established procedures.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
  • Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.

Schedule
