Phlebotomist
About the role
Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Commack, NY. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing blood collections, processing specimens, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and clients. You will also have opportunities for continuous growth and development within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
- Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
- Process billing information and collect payments when required
- Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Provide superior customer service to all patients
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
- Travel to additional sites when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years or more of phlebotomy experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation required
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Schedule
Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm and rotating Saturdays hours 7:00am – 12:00pm
Pay
$17.75 - $26.00 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
