About the role
Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team at a client site in Fredericksburg, VA. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections, and represent the company. You will also have opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
- Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
- Process billing information and collect payments when required
- Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Provide superior customer service to all patients
- Handle administrative and clerical duties as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
- Phlebotomy certification, completed training program, or 3+ months of experience as a phlebotomist
- In lieu of work experience, certification or training must come from an accredited agency
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation for travel to additional sites when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience
Pay
$17.75 - $27.69 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, internal equity, and market data.
Phlebotomy Service Technicians (PSTs) may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with rotating Saturdays.

Employees on a 7-on/7-off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO. Employees scheduled for fewer than 20 hours per week, casual, intern, and temporary employees are eligible only for the 401(k) plan.
