Phlebotomist

Job Summary

As a Phlebotomist at our facility, you will be an integral part of our Laboratory team. We are a highly functioning team that supports many different departments and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing.

Qualifications

• Previous health care experience required
• Laboratory experience and knowledge of aseptic methods and basic medical terminology preferred
• Good communication skills
• Analytical skills necessary to select best site for obtaining blood and bacteriological specimens based on physicians' orders
• Does not pose a direct threat or risk to the safety and health of themselves and other employees
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification
• Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience or completion of a phlebotomy training program
• Excellent communication/people skills and problem solving skills
• Computer skills and filing/clerical skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification. This is required within 30 days of hire
• Valid driver’s license
