Job Summary

This role involves executing the plasmapheresis process by performing venipunctures. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining customer service, managing equipment, and documenting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain total operation compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP)
• Maintain high level of customer service and positive donor experience
• Maintain cleanliness and organize work areas, stock supplies, report unsafe situations, and perform inventory tasks
• Review and confirm donor identification, monitor conditions, and uphold confidentiality
• Set up and prepare equipment and supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis, maintain proper ratios, and label units
• Execute venipunctures and plasma collection, manage adverse events, and disconnect donors
• Manage biohazard waste disposal, perform daily, weekly, and monthly calibrations, and troubleshoot equipment issues
• Mentor and train team members as a Designated Trainer
• Perform routine and periodic QC on equipment, partner with QA, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Three (3) months' experience in a medical or healthcare environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• Completed training appropriate for duties before performing independently

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
• Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel
• Ability to use assistive devices if needed
• Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens
• Ability to navigate the office environment safely, including stairs and elevators
• Ability to travel up to 20% via airplane and vehicle
