NCLR is a national LGBTQ civil rights organization working at the intersection of gender, racial and economic justice. The Philanthropy Coordinator joins a smart, passionate, and dynamic team charged with donor relations and external communications to support some of the most important and life-affecting work in the country. This role is primarily responsible for managing the donor database and leadership for general fund donors; supporting special events and donor gatherings; administrative support for the Advancement team and serving as a creative thought partner.

This is a full-time, exempt (salary) remote position. It is preferred, not required, that the Philanthropy Coordinator lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ideally, the Philanthropy Coordinator will occasionally travel to support San Francisco Bay Area events.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Raiser’s Edge/NXT database including record keeping; manage database health; regularly perform data audits and implement data enrichment services to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the database.
  • Oversee and manage day-to-day gift entry, acknowledgment, and reconciliation processes, ensuring systems and staff workflows meet audit and reporting standards.
  • Oversee, manage and implement prospect research vehicles including Research Point and Blackbaud Target Analytics; review and verify data that is accessible on individual donor records and Raiser’s Edge/NXT database.
  • Develop and implement data-related processes and procedures for campaigns and events, including donation form set up, gift coding and reporting, ticketing/registration set up, and communication with event participants.
  • Set up online forms, registrations, and emails for distribution.
  • Analyze individual and institutional giving performance and data against annual goals; independently prepare findings and recommendations for the Director of Philanthropy and Advancement team.
  • Oversee organization’s electronic archival system for donor information and records on fileserver and in Raiser’s Edge/NXT, setting standards for accuracy, timeliness and compliance.
  • Ensure related donor information and fundraising activities are accurately recorded in the organization’s donor database (Raiser’s Edge NXT) in a timely manner.
  • In partnership with the Advancement Communications Manager, provide support for Community Engagement programs including processing of payments, coordinating promotional assets, tickets and benefits exchanges; and relationships with community partners.
  • Hold the portfolio of general fund, entry level and new donors; manage stewardship and workflows for new donors, anniversaries and segmented lists.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Director of Philanthropy on major gifts, planned giving, Impact Club, digital marketing, and grants initiatives — contributing data-driven recommendations that shape campaign strategy.
  • Support donor events and engagement opportunities. For example: Serve as Tech Lead for a virtual event or panel, supporting logistics for in person event, and sharing metrics with the team for debrief.
  • Direct operations of NCLR's online store (Bonfire), including product and promotional decisions.
  • Act as a core thought partner within the Advancement team, contributing ideas that shape program direction.
  • Provide administrative support for the Advancement team as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in nonprofit or administrative work; nonprofit fundraising experience required.
  • Knowledge of database systems, with understanding of CRM used for fundraising such as Raiser’s Edge/NXT and communications such as Constant Contact.
  • Passionate about social justice and the work of NCLR and energized by a multi-faceted position as part of a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
  • Resourceful, creative, and flexible. A diplomatic problem solver.
  • Collaborative; ability to work effectively with a team in a remote environment.
  • A team player who is willing to take on additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
  • Excellent project management skills and very high level of attention to detail, willingness to take initiative and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills; experience building and maintaining relationships with co-workers, donors, and community members.
  • Quick study of new and emerging digital, social media and project management platforms.
  • Adept at planning, prioritizing, organizing, and following through; and able to balance competing priorities.
  • An awareness of and commitment to a broad range of racial and economic justice issues and an understanding of the multiple communities NCLR represents.
  • Willingness to work alternative hours on occasion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of databases and an understanding of operations systems is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and experience with philanthropy principles and practices in nonprofits is highly preferred.

Pay

$70,900 - $72,700
