A fully funded PhD position (E13 TV-H, starting October 1, 2026) is available in the DFG Research Unit GArua (C3) at JLU Giessen (Germany).
About the Role
The successful candidate will investigate cloud-water interception in the Galápagos highlands using a mobile epiphyte lysimeter and reproduce these findings in a process-based hydrological model.
Responsibilities
- Measure cloud-water interception in the Galápagos highlands using a mobile epiphyte lysimeter
- Reproduce measurements in a process-based hydrological model
Requirements
- Master's degree in Hydrology/Environmental Sciences/Geoecology
- Fieldwork experience
- Programming skills in Python or C++
- A willingness to participate in Galápagos field campaigns
