A fully funded PhD position (E13 TV-H, starting October 1, 2026) is available in the DFG Research Unit GArua (C3) at JLU Giessen (Germany).

About the Role

The successful candidate will investigate cloud-water interception in the Galápagos highlands using a mobile epiphyte lysimeter and reproduce these findings in a process-based hydrological model.

Responsibilities

  • Measure cloud-water interception in the Galápagos highlands using a mobile epiphyte lysimeter
  • Reproduce measurements in a process-based hydrological model

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Hydrology/Environmental Sciences/Geoecology
  • Fieldwork experience
  • Programming skills in Python or C++
  • A willingness to participate in Galápagos field campaigns
