PHD Graduate Student
About the role
I am looking for a motivated PhD student to join the Software Evolution (EVOL) Lab at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) beginning in Fall 2027. Our research lies at the intersection of software evolution, software integration, empirical software engineering, and AI-assisted software engineering. We study real-world software engineering challenges and develop methods, techniques, and tools that help developers evolve and integrate software changes more dependably. A growing part of our research focuses on developing intelligent tools and techniques that help developers work more effectively and dependably with LLMs and coding agents in software engineering.
Funding
The position is supported by my NSF CAREER Award and includes four to five years of funding.
Ideal candidate
I am particularly interested in students with strong programming and software engineering skills who are excited about conducting research, building research tools, working with real-world software systems, and advancing the state of the art in software engineering.
