Pharmacy Technician Trainee

Role Overview

As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, you will be a vital part of a collaborative team dedicated to providing safe, accurate, and efficient patient care. Your responsibilities include welcoming patients with compassion, processing prescriptions, assisting with inventory management, and supporting pharmacy operations to ensure optimal service delivery. You will also adhere to all applicable policies, laws, and regulations, including HIPAA and pseudoephedrine sales, while completing required training and exams.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and engage patients with a friendly approach at all entry points.
• Assist in processing orders in person and by phone, referring questions to the pharmacist when needed.
• Maintain a clean work environment and support team tasks to ensure department efficiency.
• Utilize pharmacy computer systems to manage prescriptions, inventory, and billing accurately.
• Contribute to improving service outcomes through knowledge of business metrics.
• Complete training programs and follow all company policies and legal requirements.
• Handle sales transactions, accurately transcribe prescription data, and manage inventory levels.
• Respond to customer inquiries professionally and resolve concerns effectively.
• File prescriptions daily and assist with maintaining proper stock levels.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0 to 6 months of experience preferred.
• Eligible to obtain pharmacy technician registration with the state board.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
